Boys’ Cinema. London. Amalgamated Press. Vol. 7, no.171. 17 March 1923.
The front cover of this issue of Boys’ Cinema reproduces a still from the movie Catch My Smoke (1922) while the centre pages (pp. 14–15) constitute a “pictorial article” on popular actor Tom Mix’s life and work. A boys’ weekly magazine rather than a comic in the narrow sense, mainly consisting of stories illustrated with production stills from recent American movies plus the occasional humorous strip, Boys’ Cinema (that apostrophe drifts now and then) ran from 1919 to 1940.
