Little Sparks. London: Amalgamated Press. No. 9 (new series). 17 July 1920.

This cover-page, four-colour illustration of animal antics at Funland Farm was drawn by S. J. Cash (his initials are to be found in panel 6). While the headline announces that Little Sparks is “The Only All-Picture Paper for Boys and Girls”, text stories will soon be introduced (1921), bringing the comic into line with the British comics format of the era. Little Sparks is the new series of a James Henderson comic originally simply called Sparks, which ran from 1914 before being taken over by the Amalgamated Press and revamped as this nursery comic in 1920.
